How it works

From locked module to unlocked vehicle in four steps.

The same flow whether you’re on the lift with a workshop tool or working remotely with an apprentice on the phone.

  1. Step 01

    Identify the module

    Note the 2-digit hex address — e.g. 17 for the instrument cluster — and whether your tool reports SFD or SFD2.

  2. Step 02

    Read the offline challenge

    Trigger SFD → ‘offline challenge’ in your scan tool. Copy the full hex string.

  3. Step 03

    Pay & generate

    Paste the challenge here, pick the SFD version, pay with card or crypto. SFD tokens come back instantly; SFD2 within 24 h.

  4. Step 04

    Write to the ECU

    Paste the token back into your tool (or auto-write via our desktop app) — module unlocked, ready to code.

What you need before starting

A standard workshop kit is enough — no proprietary credentials or dealer logins required.

  • A diagnostic tool

    VCDS, ODIS, OBDeleven, autel, Launch, or any J2534 PassThru tool that can talk UDS to the target ECU.

  • Physical access to the vehicle

    We’re cryptographic, not magic — your tool has to be plugged into the OBD-II port to read the challenge and write the response.

  • Card or crypto for €15 / €175

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and major crypto. No subscription, pay-as-you-unlock.

  • 30 seconds (SFD) or up to 24 h (SFD2)

    SFD generation is automatic. SFD2 routes through a manual operator pipeline; budget up to a working day.

Where to find the offline challenge

The offline challenge is a hex blob — every tool calls it something slightly different.

Here’s how to surface it in the three most common workshop tools. Other tools follow the same pattern: SFD → offline challenge → copy hex.

Open the target module → Security Access → SFD → ‘Generate offline challenge’. Copy the full hex blob from the bottom pane.
